Best Talent build for a rogue

Hello everyone, I'm not neccessarily new at wow, I just tend to dabble with every class for a bit before settling down. I decided to build a rogue to 70 before wotlk comes out and was wonndering what is the best build for leveling. I am leaning towards an assassination/subelty build. I like both 41 point talent skills but the main tree of assassination is more useful imho. A penny for your thoughts? I hate doing this on the wow forums b/c after eading them you won't want to play the class Everyone complains.

I would go combat swords to level. Attacks are non positional which makes grinding much easier. Here is a build I like up to the 41 point talent: »www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla···00000000

Blade Flurry and Adrenaline Rush are your two best friends when griding and getting an extra mob or two.

I'm leveling Subtelty atm, it's quite easy, I'm not too interested in the other specs as I do have a fury warrior, didn't want them to be too similar

I was having a lot of fun playing my rogue at 61-62 as subtlety, but the damage was just so subpar. Plus, positioning on mobs is a PITA when you're the only one engaging them.

Yeah that's what it's all about fun, I enjoy the huge openers & the ''control'' I have over mobs. Positioning is bait & tackle, with distract/ imp stealth, it shouldn't be a problem.

opening position is cake.

Are you sub swords or sub daggers?

I was daggers and it sucked since I would have use/abuse gouge to get my way with them.

oh lord no. I hate gouging mobs. it's a whole lot of time to spend doing nothing.

For my toon that extra time is invaluable as it equates to more energy, more combo points, more burst dmg, more control.

I second Combat Swords.

I have a 63 rogue on alliance pve that I leveled using swords and right now im leveling an undead rogue on a pvp server and going combat swords.

First of all, combat sword is the best for leveling because it doesnt require positioning as someone mentioned. In instances it also provides the best DPS. The other trees are for pvp.

That time could be better spent doing white dmg meanwhile getting energy etc. Do you know rogue's white dmg is the highest output of them all?

My point is you can go any build you want, its a game and you do whatever you want. However, if you ask for best DPS etc, it is KNOWN you have to go Combat Swords.

What about it?
Anyway, I was (partially) messing. Combat swords has the best sustained DPS but on fights where it's impossible to keep a steady rotation mutilate really shines. On Archimonde fights I'm usually 15% clear of the nearest combat rogue.

That said with a druid in my group I can certainly keep up on any fight. Brutallus will be the ultimate test.

I was thiking mutiliate myslef. I kinda like the shadowstep apporach but as they say on the wow forums, you hit like you're swinging pillows. While leveling I figure the faster I kill it the better.

I've levelled 2 rogues, both as daggers. Personal preference, I never found swords to be any faster and it resulted in more downtime bandaging/eating.

As mutilate you'll generally kill things of the same level without getting hit.
