Poll: How many free DCT-700 did you receive?

They told me that the max was three, but I was told some people got more.

My second question is it possible to get the standard definition box for free instead of the digital adapter?

All I need is one. That's all I asked for. That's all I got.

I got 2. I wasn't given the option of the standard box.

I got three, needed four. I ordered the fourth and am paying for it. No charges for the first three.

When talking to CS I was told I could get up to 3 free of charge. I ordered and got 3.

No it's not. The only rent-free device Verizon is providing as part of the digital conversion is the DCT-700. If you want a set top box, you're going to have to pay for it.

I don't recall anyone here reporting getting more than three DCT-700s for free.

When I called the "Go Digital" number, I asked and the CSR said the max was 3 for free. I asked for 2 and got them the next day (surprise, surprise! Wish the TV reward deal worked that way but that's a different rant).

Now, whether or not they will be free (without multiple calls to billing to get things straightened out) remains to be seen. My next bill is due out on 05/20.

I might also add that they activated with very little problem (via the WEB interface) - it took a little extra time, about 10 more minutes, for my added subscriptions (Movies and HBO/Cinemax) to become available after the boxes started receiving the regular FiOS Premiere channels. I did NOT have to talk to a CSR to get them functional.

I got one....then called back a month later and said...."whoops, I did not know I could get more than one...", they sent me another. I have yet to hook it up.

The Max you can get is based on the answers to the questions they ask you. The maximum is 3 dct700 for life.(As long as you live at same location and keep your account in good standing) Or they do have a fall back of 1 2500 but that is only free for 1 year.

Needed 2, ordered 3 (free). I figured I could get the 3rd one to hook up to my computer's tv tuner in case I decided to use it.

Ordered 3, got 3 and am being billed for 1.
I will call the PSC if they don't fix it after this month.
Don't have time to fight with them.

Ordered 3, got 3.

After having a couple of DCT-700 with Comcast, I have to say I'm disapointed with how Verizon implements them.

The documentation that came with the DCT-700 says it has these features, but it doesn't:

Basic User Interface that shows channel number and clock
Full channel-block parental controls
Simple Help

Remote functions that don't work:
Pressing the MENU button will bring up the main menu screen.
You can navigate through the menus with the Arrows and OK buttons on your remote.

These things have absolutely no feedback... when changing channels, by pressing the exact numbers, there is no display of what has been pressed.

On my DCT-700 all the features you mention work on mine! The only one I can't comment on is the channel-block since we don't use it.

Is it the remote that is different?

The boxes behave that way until they are fully activated but mine also display channel number and time. Granted it only does that as you change channels and appears in the bottom left corner for a few seconds.

I'm on the phone with them now. They are telling me I only get 1 free box and additionals are $3.99 per month. I guess I should have called in April.

What number did you call? You have to use the 1-888-GO-DIGITAL (I know, too many digits, it works). Ordered mine Friday and had them Monday (more than 1).

I called 888-553-1555, which is the billing/tech support number. The first question asked is if I'm calling about the digital conversion. I said yes and was directed to a digital conversion CSR.
