Cogeco the best ISP ever ?

I everybody I'm with cogeco right now ( for two months now ) And I must say this is a great ISP. My connection was never down and I have astronomic speeds with my pro connection ( 65$ ) per month compared to near 100$ for 16 megs with Bell.

I have always this speed even in hard traffic time. ( between 13.5 - 15 megs max

what do you think about ? am I lucky not to have any problems or this is really the best ISP ever ?

THANKS ^^

This is standard PRO speed, in fact I do expect every client to get those results and not experience any problems hehe

Glad to know you like it

Amazing lol.
I used to have PRO but changed to Bell then Teksavvy due to bandwidth issue [we have like 8 people using/downloading/uploading under one roof...imagine that]

But I must admit that when i use bitcomet and limewire ( but less freqently with limewire ) This is pure messed up,or maybe My client is just not fine tuned. this is possible. I got speed with bitcomet like 30-40k per seconds and with my old 5megs Bell, 300-450 kb

I still use utorrent now and then, I get an avergae or about 2 to 3 hun k on a download of anything popular. The latest movies I normally get faster than I could watch them.

I woulda said they were the best 2-3 years ago, caps and throttling have lessened my opinion of them considerably.

For some reason when ever I am using a cogeco connetion limewire is sucks for speeds, I see 60k max,no matter how many ppl have that file.

However, If I switch to an old version of bearshare(before it was filled with crapware), download the same song, ive seen speeds as high as 10mbits/s.

not sure exactly why though, and I prefer bearshare anyways as its not a resource hog like limewire, if you need a link to a version thats not filled with crap, let me know.

And your upload?

BTW For 'anything popular' I see 1MB/s or more, though I can upload freely at 250kB/s+ which helps with torrents.

Same question for you sir, and your upload, that thing that people complain about being throttled rather than the download?

Can't say I've had any issues with cogeco. If there were no caps Cogeco would be impossible to beat in Canada. Oh well maybe someday we'll get there.

Well let me say that in my personal experience where I live, Cogeco is by far the best isp ever! We have three major providers here, Cogeco included. I have been a customer of all three, but the best one by far has always been Cogeco. I made the mistake of going to Bell in 2006 to save moeny at the time, but quite frankly that was the biggest blunder ever! Now I am back on Cogeco, and I have to say, never again will I switch!

Cogeco Rocks!

Cogeco's performances are just excellent.

I highly recommend Cogeco to my friends and customers because I can say their performance is proven and their services are reliable.

When I was living in Montreal I had Videotron services there and are no so much powerful like Cogeco, even when I was paying a 20mbps service. I admet that my pages load faster with Cogeco comparing my previous ISPs like Videotron and HELL (Bell) Canada of course.

I admit that I download since a while using Torrent and Limewire (most of time Torrent) and works fine for me.

To finish my post,I really like Cogeco!! ^.^

Upload will upload at whatever i set it to, usually set around 60, but I have put it as high as 110 and it does upload at that speed. No throttling that I'm aware of.

Re: Cogeco the best ISP ever ?

I'd gladly exchange some of the speed power for a better cap than 60gb a month...

Between downloading demos on my PS3, trailers, and downloading patches for Age of Conan and WoW -- my 60 gb is nearly shot!

Giving some serious thoughts about switching to tekksavvy. I'm not even downloading things I shouldn't be, and I'm nearing (went over this month actually) the cap limit.
