I would suspect that some of these increases are local and approved by your state PSC or equivalent. I moved to GA in Sept and started my POTS and DSL service, and I've not heard any mention of increases since. In fact, the prices are very competitive. My 6Mb Xtreme DSL package costs me $27.95 a month.
Maybe it also has to do with the area of the state you're in, and whether or not competition is a factor for ATT. I know it is here in the Atlanta area. If you have choices there in SC, then vote with your dollars and switch to another POTS, VoIP, DSL or cable provider. |
