Re: [Unlock] Need help with VTA-CV

Guys, I tried everything I know with this adaptor.
It shows now always the 1.08 bin, even after trying to upload the NA2a bin.
I did what I thaught to be a factory reset : I pushed the Reset button on the back with a pin, then turned off power while still pushing, then powered the unit up again. The LEDs didn't flash, I don't know if this the correct way to do it.
I also tried to do a "soft" factory reset at the Support tab in the webpage.
Nothing helps!!!
I still don't have the Save&Reset button and I cannot load my custom settings.
I'm very frustrated with this, as I cannot use my vBuzzer account to receive calls.
I can assure you that I spent hours and hours reading this forum and others, but I'm not very familiar with this matter and that is why I'm asking such stupid things, like how to do a factory reset!...

Please help!

Do you have other v3.3 embedded device, i.e. some WiFi router, that you have an access through its shell? If you do, you can use this device's serial port to hook it to your VTA-VR serial port and flash it with the firmware you want. Otherwise, you will need to get a USB/Serial-console cable to do this.

Well, I wish I could understand exactly what you're saying...
I have an US Robotics 8045 wireless router, if this is what you mean.
I re-read all the topic "DLink VTA-VR", but I still don't understand what kind of serial port you mean.
Do I have to use a special cable, which connects some ports (serial) found on each device's motherboard?

The idea is to use the device as your serial-console interface to access the serial port on your VTA-VR.

Can this run OpenWRT firmware? If so, then you can compile OpenWRT to include with a minicom package to use as a serial-console interface to your VTA-VR.

If you don't understand, please refrain yourself from doing this.

With my suggestion using an embedded system that already comes with a 3.3v serial port, you just need straight wires; Otherwise, you will need to build your own serial-console cable.
