[TWC] Deals?

Does anyone have any great deals for new TWC customers who don't want to bundle RR or DP?

I had a guy who came by my house and offered me all the channels and an HD DVR for $34/month for 12 months several months ago. I threw his info away, but now it appears my area has FINALLY gotten Discovery HD, so I'm ready to switch back.

I called today and the best the lady on the phone could do was $54/month for 12 months. I've got a $212 ETF w/ DirecTV I'm trying to amortize.

Did you tell the CSR for TWC about your DirecTV ETF? Occasionally they're authorized to offer specific discounts when ETFs (with proof) from other companies are involved.

Actually I did. I think she was new though, it took her over 30 minutes of fumbling around just to give me a price.

I may call back and try to get a different rep tomorrow. Think I'd have more luck calling the local office number rather than the 800 national number?

I've got the Triple play All in one for only 99 for a year(129 regular monthly price) , after I told the CSR that I had RCN as a cable provider and that I was thinking of switching to TWC.

The CSR put me on hold and told me that I could get phone/internet/cable for 99.00 for a year and she also waived the $39.00 installation fee.
So just tell one of those CSR that you have another cable or satellite provider and they will give you a good offer to switch toTWC.

There are no other cable providers in the area and I don't want Digital Phone or Road Runner. I told the rep I have DirecTV and they wanted to charge me a $212 ETF.

I strongly disagree with the above advice.
I've had TW on and off multiple times in the past 5 years and have NEVER had to pay an "installation fee". Additionally, it seems that if you get triple-play, you have to sign at least a 1 year contract. No thanks, bud. I had that too, and the instant you want to just upgrade your RR to turbo, or add the HD package for TV, they tack on a contract renewal. As poor as TW's customer service is sometimes, it's extremely unwise to lock yourself into a contract. You have no leverage when negotiating for better pricing or outage refunds because you can't threaten to cancel. They'll frequently offer 12-18mo guaranteed pricing without the need for a contract.

Give your local office a call. Tell them that you're looking at switching and have been unsatisfied with DirecTV, but the only thing keeping you from switching are the higher rates on cable. That's always worked for me...

use the local tw number not 1800-ok cable, we have had the triple play for a couple of years now and did not do a contract, we just went to a contract by our choice to recive the additional discounts 10% for a two year contract so we now pay 134.07 and this includes tax and fees for digital tv ,hd-dvr ,digital phone ,and road runner standard at 10/512

I took the triple play because I didn't wanna pay the installation fee, and
I also was surprised when the CSR told me that i had to pay an installation fee.

DId I say anything about a contract..well no. I didn't have to sign any contract with TWC. I'm gonna drop the Digital phone service as soon as my promotion is over because I just need the cable and Internet service.

do you have any premiums with that package? Im curious because my nephew just got cable installed on Ditmars Blvd - and he's paying 163.00 a month for Triple play and 2 premiums.
