for all you stupid complainers stop.
as of current media standards and sizes. 250 gig IS i can say more than or is enough for ALL INDIVIDUAL people. consuming more than 250 gig a month is not normal.
even for uber iso downloaders.
you people have to stop complaining about everything. lets give you some nice little numbers.. for argument sake lets say linux iso is.. 4 gigs. say you download 20 of them a month.. which is already REALLY Generous estimate. thats.. 80 gigs.. surf/email.. .. 5 gigs a month.. thats again GENEROUS . movies.. say 20 movies a month.. at 4 gigs each.. again.. GENEROUS.. another 80 gigs. thats 165 gigs.. hmm lets see what other pointless things.. oh like making copies of illegal apps. lets see + 20 gigs.. again generous.. 185.... this is REALLY generous estimate for any reasonable person. if you're totally unreasonable. then you should have to pay unreasonable prices as well. theres no reason for you to download tons of garbage you will never watch. or use. thats just plain wasteful.. i'm really tired of people complaining never being satisfied even though "hated" comcast is trying.. if you're consuming content for personal purposes. you're NOT going to go above 250 gigs a month. theres just no way. you can start claiming all sorts of bullshit. but you know its definately unnessary. on the other hand if you're downloading as much as you possibly can just to spite isp or just to act like ass or distribute the content illegally. then yeah i guess you can go above 250 gig.
thanks.
bye.

I'm sorry to say this but the stupid one is you. The only reason you haven't used more then 250 GB is simply because you don't use veoh, guba, netflix, PSN Store, Xbox Live, or anything that takes more then 1 gb of bandwith FOR ANYTHING you want to watch.

I use 250 GB already and that's only because i'm at 6/768, if I had higher speeds you bet i'd be over that. I do daily backups of my site's and that's an easy 4 GB a day, and no there not my business there HOBBIES.

If like Chiyo up there I own a 50 mb line which can use up the 250 gb cap in a matter of 2-3 days while paying upper 100 a month, would you still be happy? I don't think so! I'd feel ripped off.

Before spouting crap remember that not everyone uses the internet the same way as you do. With the internet heading the way it's heading 250 gb caps will be NOTHING in 2 years.

Youtube doesn't even offer true video yet, when they do you can bet anything that the bandwith usage will go up exponentially. Comcast needs to improve their infrastruce, not cap their users.

Have you heard of online backup software.

Sure backing up locally is good, but if my house is destroyed then I have nothing to recover. Online backups are professionally managed.

I have about 1.2tb of content, pictures in raw format, our iTunes libraries and purchased movies from various legal sources.

In order to download that backup it would cost me 500 dollars in overage fees.

It's excessive. I'm a network engineer with over 50 million data customers I'm responsible for and I know that bandwidth is only costing cents on the dollar.

Like I said before Comcast will not get away with that rate, I will organize and get congress to act on it. I purchase gas and power at reasonable rates and I expect anyone else who is going to start charging metered access to anything to do the same. Unfortunately for many americans they have no choice.

This will stifle innovation on the internet.

Look at all the online backup services for large amounts of data for consumers. They're all in the United States. Name high bandwidth applications that were started in Europe or anywhere else they have metered access. None.

If you want to see the death of the internet then Comcast is the cancer you should ignore. If you care you will demand fair rates.

How many times do you figure your house will burn down?

When you try to compare head-end bandwidth to residential subscriber rates it's like trying to compare the price of a barrel of oil to your costs at the gas pump. Even if you bought a $130 barrel of crude it's worthless to fuel your car in its unprocessed form, so that product itself in its raw form is actually worthless to you. Same deal with direct carrier bandwidth, because even if you could take a handoff for free at your house I'm pretty sure Linksys doesn't produce a sub-$100 widget that can terminate OC192 packet over SoNET.
