Unlike bell, Shaw used to throttle uploads only, you might get a decent download speed using BT. Is telus the only telco/cable company that hasn't implemented it yet?  I still don't get why a DSL company would need to throttle and you don't have the problem with overcrowded nodes like you do on cable?<br><br>I do like that teksavvy has reasonable overage charges.  You get 200 gb on the 6.0 package.. and can either pay .25 cents a gig for overage, or call them before the end of the month, and you can pay 10 bux extra for each block of 100gb you need.  I don't mind paying for extra bandwidth when its a reasonable price.]]></description>

If that's the case I won't be renewing my subscription when my current three year 3.0 plan expires in Feburay next year. With Shaw I'm getting the same fake HDTV and 10 Mb/s internet. In both cases I'm having my intelligence insulted but at least with Shaw I have the bandwidth to download the real thing (25 Mb/s mp2t) from Japan at something better than glacial speed and play it on my HTPC.<br><br>Note: I currently have both Telus 3.0 and a Shaw Xtreme-I Business account.]]></description>

If you have 6.0 then you cannot quality for TTV.  TTV is Telus's new goal for all Customers so they just do not put much effort into making these ports available.<br><br>Wholesalers on the other hand could give a rats ass about TV since they just sell internet, they do not use our equipment so they do not have port issues.  They just use our lines ;).  <br><br>Anyways, hopefully that puts a bit of the questions about 6.0 to rest.  Its a porting issue that will not likley be resolved ever =p.<br><br>]]></description>

I had waited about 3 weeks after i killed the telus tv to ask because in another thread, it was mentioned it takes telus about 2 weeks to remove the flag that prevents 6.0  while on telus tv.  I also think that maybe they hadn't removed it yet, and that there wasn't any physical problem.<br><br>but luck or telus tv flag.. the extra speed boost is nice :)]]></description>

Same as they do with Bell back east. If they had their own equipment in place they wouldn't be suffering from the throttling issues back east with Bell.<br><br>They do however have their own pipe to the outside world after it goes through all of Telus' equipment. I'm sure if you ask in the Teksavvy forum someone could better inform you of what they use to provide service.]]></description>

So I would guess that Jammerman's post that they might rent out part of the CO, including adsl2+ ports might be the case.<br><br>On a positive note I got a goodbye present from telus today.  They sent me a phone line serge protector for a 2wire modem.  They letter says I have a 2wire, but what I have from telus is a 300g?  But i'm guessing it'd work anyways :)]]></description>

If the account isn't flagged as eligible the CSRs can't do anything about it.  It's better to error on the side of caution and not provide it then to provide it and end up with service calls and troubles and a pissed off customer after the fact.<br><br>Also, being that Teksavvy is a small company, they can micromanage their customer base a little easier.]]></description>

I gave teksavvy a call, my telus disconnected just after midnight, teksavvy came on around 9.  And its running at 6.0 :)<br><br>I didn't really have anything against telus, but living right downtown, it seems rather weird they didn't want to upgrade anything.  Goodbye 3.0mbps internet :)]]></description>
