[Modem] Netopia 2241N-VGx is a router too?

Nicksterr : I noticed that I wasn't getting my ports open to windows and started to investigate. I had the firewall exception and my router (DGL-4300) port forwarding set up. I dived into my modem config page and found out that it's a semi-gateway...So as soon as I added the exception in the NAT settings for the port, everything worked fine. My modem currently has, and by default I believe, IP Passthrough, NAT monitoring and UPnP disabled. DHCP Server is enabled. The connection type is set to On-Demand. Protocol is PPPoE. VPI = 8, VCI - 35.

My question: Can I somehow disable the "router-like" functions of my modem and use it only as a source of my connection? Can't my router do everything else?

TIA,

Nick
