New computer build. Can't access DVD Drive..

Building a new computer with a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 and a AMD 4450e dual core. Using a 2550 NEC drive. The computer freezes when trying to access the driver cd that came with the board. I put a regular disk in with files and it opens right up.

I haven't got the chipset drivers or anything loaded yet. Could one of these drivers be holding me up?

Event manager shows cdrom bad blocks.

 Some kind of script error comes up. The dvd drive just spins.

I got the chipset and lan drivers from there site. But still the same error.

Trying to install Win xp sp3 and that will not go.. my harddrive is showing down by the clock .. where you can right click it and stop it like a usb drive.. Is that normal for a sata c drive to show there like that?

 It turns out this harddrive »www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···22148262 does not like NF4 Motherboards.. »forums.seagate.com/stx/board/pri···mat=page

After switching back to Xp SP2 for the tenth time and getting all kinds of errors when booting up.. I've RMA'ed it for a WD drive.. My first experience with Seagate.. not a good one..
