| FiOS automatic bill payment problem
I have been a FiOS TV customer since February of this year and I have not experienced any problems with using Verizon's automatic bill payment from my debit card until now. My current bill is dated April 28 for the amount of $73.64 (the same amount it was last month). When I recently checked my online bank's checking account, it listed that on May 5 the amount of $73.64 was taken out of my account by Verizon. However, when I went to view my account at verizon.com, it still said that I owe $73.64 for the current bill. Concerned about this, I called Verizon's billing department and the representative had also said that I owe $73.64 for the current bill due on May 22. She told me that there was no record of Verizon automatically taking $73.64 from my debit card on May 5. She also told me that $73.64 was credited to my account back in early April but that was for the bill before the current one of the same amount. I did tell her that the $73.64 which was taken out by Verizon on May 5 was currently in a "check card hold" so that maybe why it hasn't been credited yet even though my last 2 automatic bill payments from Verizon were credited with my account at verizon.com while there were check card holds on each one. The representative said that all she can do is leave a message in my account that my payment was in a check card hold and that I should call back after the check card hold clears to see if my Verizon account still has a balance. Well later on today I checked my account again at verizon.com and when I viewed my bill under Recent Activity it listed that my Current Balance was $0.00. So I clicked on Recent Payments and Adjustments and where it said Applied Payments it listed $0.00 where it should have listed $73.64. So because of that, I am still confused as to whether or not my billing problem has been taken care of. I just don't want to get ripped off by being forced to pay again for this month's bill when the automatic bill payment had taken care of it but somebody at Verizon messed up and forgot to properly credit my account like they did in previous months. I also don't want to turn on my TV after May 22, which is the due date of my current bill, and find no more FiOS TV service. So I am not sure what to do right now except to wait and see if anything changes within the next couple of days. |

| reply to Roche1972 Good news! I just checked my account at verizon.com and the $73.64 that was taken out of my debit card by Verizon for my bill this month was finally credited to my Verizon account. I also checked my bank's checking account and that $73.64 is still in a check card hold even though Verizon had credited it to my Verizon account. Maybe it was because of the phone call I made to Verizon yesterday. Anyway, it appears that everything is all right now. The only problem I have now with Verizon is that I can't view my current bill on my account at verizon.com. The only details I know about my current bill that they give me is the cost. I wanted to see if there was a mention about the free digital adapter I got late last month or if it was too late for Verizon to include it on my recent bill. I had ordered the digital adapter on April 17, received it on April 21, installed it the same day, and my recent bill would be dated April 28. So I don't know if it was too late for Verizon to add the digital adapter to my current bill or not. If they did then I have nothing to worry about since my bill for this month is the same amount as last month's bill. If they didn't then I have another month to worry about whether or not I am going to be billed for that digital adapter. It may also explain why I can't view this month's bill yet on my account at verizon.com. |

| Roche,
Don't sweat it too much. I have seen my bill online where the amount was current, but the details were last month's. There was a slip of about 5 or 6 days before it caught up.
If you got your DCT-700 by calling the Go-Digital number you should not see any itemization. Or at least I haven't. The most you may see is Analog TV service on your TV details. It does not show up as an equipment line item for me.
Periodically check it if you want, but don't worry about it. |

| reply to Roche1972 When I had ordered my free digital adapter, I had used the special 1-888 number given on the first letter I had received from Verizon last month. The 1-888-GO-DIGITAL number was on the second letter I had received this week. According to my account at verizon.com under My Services, it listed both "Analog Video Service" and "DCT-700 Conversion Free" along with the other services and set top boxes I subscribe to. So because it listed "DCT-700 Conversion Free" in my account, I'm assuming that I won't be charged for the digital adapter. |
