Does anybody out there knows why my WAN IP Address and my WAN Default Gateway are the same.I have a DSL connection from Verizon with a Dynamic PPPOE connection along with a D-Link DI-624 wireless router. |

IOW, it's normal. |

May be your Verizon modem is already configured as a router. -- I used to be indecisive, now I am not sure. |

| I use a router between my network and the DSL, so the systems inside my home see 192.168.0.1 as their gateway, which is just the LAN side of the router. The WAN side is the IP address issued dynamically by the ISP. So for me, anyway, the "WAN gateway" and WAN IP are the same. |

The WAN IP is the IP that assigned by your ISP, which should not be the same as the WAN gateway aka Router's IP or Lan IP.
Added: the "WAN IP" can be obtained by browsing www.myipaddress.com

| reply to Falcao With PPP default gateways works a little diffrent. Like my IP is 75.89.57.220 and my default gateway is 151.213.12.111 though you cant send directly to anybody elsa since its a point to point link, Anyways I'm betting d-link just coded their router to show the WAN IP as the Default Gateway on PPPoE connections just because it doesn't really matter to much if you know the real gateways IP or not. |
