I've got the Triple play All in one for only 99 for a year(129 regular monthly price) , after I told the CSR that I had RCN as a cable provider and that I was thinking of switching to TWC.
The CSR put me on hold and told me that I could get phone/internet/cable for 99.00 for a year and she also waived the $39.00 installation fee. So just tell one of those CSR that you have another cable or satellite provider and they will give you a good offer to switch toTWC. |

There are no other cable providers in the area and I don't want Digital Phone or Road Runner. I told the rep I have DirecTV and they wanted to charge me a $212 ETF. |

I've had TW on and off multiple times in the past 5 years and have NEVER had to pay an "installation fee". Additionally, it seems that if you get triple-play, you have to sign at least a 1 year contract. No thanks, bud. I had that too, and the instant you want to just upgrade your RR to turbo, or add the HD package for TV, they tack on a contract renewal. As poor as TW's customer service is sometimes, it's extremely unwise to lock yourself into a contract. You have no leverage when negotiating for better pricing or outage refunds because you can't threaten to cancel. They'll frequently offer 12-18mo guaranteed pricing without the need for a contract.
Give your local office a call. Tell them that you're looking at switching and have been unsatisfied with DirecTV, but the only thing keeping you from switching are the higher rates on cable. That's always worked for me... -- "What makes us omniscient? | I took the triple play because I didn't wanna pay the installation fee, and I also was surprised when the CSR told me that i had to pay an installation fee.
DId I say anything about a contract..well no. I didn't have to sign any contract with TWC. I'm gonna drop the Digital phone service as soon as my promotion is over because I just need the cable and Internet service. |
