grohgreg : Well, that's a loaded question. If you search the internet for Ku-band LNBs, you'll find a wide variance in receive sensitivity. More sensitive = more expensive. But it makes no sense why Hughes provide mismatched LNBs for the same TRIA. Unless one of those TRIAs is not from Hughes. If they're both Hughes stock, then the Chinese one would seem to be the less sensitive of the two - a probable factory defect. Alternatively - if 88 seems a comparatively high RSL, the Taiwanese LNB might be OVER-sensitive.

Given the info provided, that's the best I can do - sorry.

//greg//
--
HN7000S/74cm/1w/ProPlus - G16/1250H/Germantown - NAT 66.82.187.152/Gateway 66.82.25.10/DNS 66.82.4.12 and 66.82.4.8 - Firefox 3 - AVG+Firewall v7.5

Raminto : Sorry I confused you. I actually meant signal path. With the feedhorn removed I could not see any obstruction and the o-ring was in place.

Yes, I replaced the hole thing, not just the LNB.

Greg, you say that the Chinese LNB is less sensitiv. Does this mean there is nothing really wrong with it, it just gives me a lower signal and the system will work the same way as with the other LNB?
--
dw7000/.98m/2watt/Horizon1/1390/256k4/5 /xp sp2/desktop compaq 6330CA/linksys wireless/thinkpad xp pro/Toughbook CF-28 xp pro

grohgreg : On the surface, it sounds like the Chinese LNB is markedly less sensitive. But I'm not quite sure of your terminology. Wave "guard" for example, has a TX-only function. So I took the liberty of labeling one of your photos. Hope you don't mind.

So when you say "swapped LNB", is that literal? That is, did actually you swap the LNB only? or the LNB+OMT assembly? or the entire LNB+OMT+feedhorn?

//greg//
--
HN7000S/74cm/1w/ProPlus - G16/1250H/Germantown - NAT 66.82.187.152/Gateway 66.82.25.10/DNS 66.82.4.12 and 66.82.4.8 - Firefox - AVG+Firewall v7.5
<TABLE WIDTH=95% align=center border=0 CELLPADDING=4">

Raminto : I installed a system on Horizons1/1390 and what ever I did I could not get the signal over 60.
