| Your best bet would be to find a place which sells them and/or do a google search for reviews. That will at least give you an idea of any possible issues. Just keep in mind that a majority of users that feel the need to review hardware, do so because they had issues.
Aside from that, Acer is a decent brand. -- Google is your Friend |

| reply to kernelspy I have an acer 3613lci and have had it for over a year and a half. Not once has that laptop screwed up or anything. Running very smooth. Only issue i have with it is that the battery sucks. I think it's only 2 cell or something. Only lasts an hour. But i got it for $400 on black friday. -- When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all. |

Both are used all the time. Neither one of ours have had any issues. My family owns 2 other acer laptops and an acer desktop. All without problems. | Acer only has USA based tech support as well. They are the only company that I know of that if you call in about your laptop they will put you on hold and go get that exact model off a shelf and walk you though any issues or problems.
They also recently purchased Gateway last year and are the #1 computer maker in Asia
Kudos to Acer imho, just make sure you get the extended care warranty and don't use the laptop as a kickstand. -- »www.google.com is your best friend... please use it before asking your question. |

| As long as it has been treated well, and the price is right...My only concern? Do beware, the "list" price in that link is misleading (too damn high!) This is no $1400 notebook. These are the features of a $600 - $800 notebook at today's prices/configuations.
It is not the lightest 12.1" screen model out there, but it is not an un-pleasing design, and as long as you don't need an uber-power-notebook I think it should serve just fine.
At this point in time, I think Acer really has a pretty good grip on designing and marketing quality budget range notebooks. If I was going for a high end laptop, I likely would not be thinking "Acer", but at the very competitive budget end, not bad at all. -- ...something is happening here but you don't know what it is...do you, Mr. Jones? |
