I've been doing some research lately on Media Server software for Linux, and although it looks like you've found what you're looking for, I'll pass this along for general info:
There is a non-free app that get's some good reviews for using PS3 and Xbox360's etc. as Media Directors, and that's Twonkyvision.
Twonkyvision Content formats
* Music: MP3, WMA, WAV, 3GP, M4A, MP4, LPCM, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, MP2, AC3, MPA, MP1, AIF, ASF * Photo: JPEG, PNG, TIF, BMP, GIF * Video: MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG2-TS, MPEG4, AVI, WMV, VOB, DivX, 3GP, VDR, ASF, MPE, DVR-MS, Xvid, M1V, M4V * Internet Radio: vTuner, Shoutcast * Playlists: WPL, PLS, M3U
The list of supported devices is pretty nice, but I post it here as an FYI only, I've never used it, and my own needs fall more in line with LinuxMCE (PVR, etc.). -- "If you continue to use Windows, your system may become unstable" --BSOD |
