If your modem is an actual retail version Netopia Model 2241N-VGx then click on the link below to the Netopia support page for the Netopia Model 2241N-VGx. You should be able to use the information there to figure out how to configure the Netopia Model 2241N-VGx as a "Bridge Modem".

If your modem is a Bellsouth customized version Netopia Model 2241N-006, which is based upon the retail version Netopia Model 2241N-VGx, then follow the instructions below to configure your modem for "Bridged Ethernet" mode and your router for "PPPoE" mode.

Replace "Step 3" in the FAQ with the below instructions in quotation marks.
"Click on Expert Mode from the menu and confirm that you want to enter Expert Mode. Click on Configure from the menu and then Connection in the sub-menu. Select "Bridged Ethernet" from the Protocol pull down. Click on Save and restart the connection at the bottom."
