nwrickert : When I got my 327w (purchased on eBay), I wanted to configure it in advance without interrupting my dsl connection (with a different modem). So I booted it up, without connecting to a DSL line, and connected my laptop to access the 327w pages.

Yes, sure, it wants to find a DSL sync. I'm not sure how I got around that, but I did. I vaguely recall that there was a cancel button that I hit somewhere, then I went to the WAN configuration and set it up as desired. Later I went to other settings and configured those too.

So, yes, it is possible to get around that problem, though I don't fully remember what I did.

Note that this was for a verizon version, D90-327W15-06, with VER:4.02.00.00 firmware.
--
AT&T dsl; Westell 327w modem/router; SuSE 10.1; firefox 2.0.0.14

funchords : I ran into this. Can you post a screen shot of that screen -- seems to me that there was something to click that would keep it from automatically connecting and from there on out you can config without a connection.

If you can't make it work -- log on here as a member and send me an IM with your phone number or something.

anon : Taking advice from users on this board, I hit the good old reset button on the back of the 327w. Now, when I try to access the admin page for the 327w, it wants me to enter account name and password - I enter admin and password. It goes to the next screen which is to schedule software update checks. From there, it tries to find a DSL sync, which I no longer have. How do I get by that? I can't access anything in the 327w so that I can set it up as a wireless router to use with Charter Cable Internet
