Re: [MCE] XP SP3 Issues

The reason for removing IE7 is given here: »XP SP3 and IE6, IE7 & IE8 (Beta) - Important Information

It is not absolutely necessary. But it does make very difficult the process of doing an in-place repair reinstallation in the future.

We will reinstall IE7 when SP3 has been fully installed.

My primary concern at the moment is that you cannot successfully revert a Service Pack installation by using System Restore. Your computer is presently in a completely unknown state, with pieces of Service Pack 2 and pieces of Service Pack 3 installed side-by-side. The only reason this is not completely obvious, is that you are using an archived set of registry hives. This has to be remedied.

Ok so if I uninstall 7, will I have 6? Sorry if this seems a dumb question.

Also, as I said, when I rebooted the last time, it would only boot into safe mode. What if this is the issue again?

And I checked and I do have MCE 2005. It was in the add/remove programs
