Constant disconnects with 2wire 2701HG

I installed DSL at my inlaws a while back and they were getting disconnected frequently. It appears that the modem would reboot and it would take a few minutes for it to reconnect. This past weekend, I put in a whole house filter thinking that there was a lot of noise on the line from their old phones, fax, alarm, etc... It helped significantly based on the numbers on the diagnostic page, although it still says that some of the numbers are "suspicious". Since I've already taken care of the internal wiring (and checked that the numbers are the still the same without anything other than the modem hooked up to the NID).

Now to the question...my next step is to call AT&T to have them check the line, but I don't get over there frequently. Is there any chance that I can have the techs just check the quality of their line without actually being in the house? Is there a secret code phrase that I can use so I don't have to go through the tier 1 version of 20 questions?

Thanks!!

Post in the DIRECT forum and provide the DSL Tel#. Ask them for your line stats and do a little explanation of your issue. You don't need to be there for them to test but you should make sure the modem is on.
