| Charter HSI/CATV in Pasadena CA worth it?
I've read some older posts in here about the quality of Charter HSI (and to some degree CATV). I'm moving to Pasadena in a few weeks and would like to know if it's worth it to go that route or should I go with AT&T DSL? I'm currently using Time Warner on a 6mb package, so I'd like to keep speeds the same with my new carrier.
Really just fishing to see if the quality has improved and I can look forward to a reliable service.

| In my opinion, their HSI service rocks. I get the speed I pay for, and it's reliable and consistant (though granted my neighborhood density is far less than urban Pasadena).
However, I'm about to kick Charter TV to the curb. Their boxes suck, their PQ is iffy, and my service pixelates and drops out all the time. I even just recently moved a short drive away, and figured it had to get better. Nope, it's just as bad as it was before when the neighborhood burned down around me in my old house back in October. I keep wanting DTV back, but I'm not sure I can get the satellite view I need to get it installed (lots of trees).
Charter has 5/512 and 10/1. Sounds like you'd be taking the 5/512 package to keep near the TW 6Mbps package. The 5 is now the new bottom tier, so it should be cheap, but be warned that Charter for some reason charges quite a bit for it's service compared to DSL.

have to be very careful around SoCal. There are still pockets of very bad HSI service that they are just ignoring.
For example my apartment in Riverside has Charter HSI and it is horrible. But then my bro's house just 15 miles away has perfect service.
I'd Check into a trial service. |

Thanks for the info guys, I'll definitely give them a trial run before I commit to any contracts.
Damn, why won't Verizon hurry up and put FIOS out here. |

i live in alhambra and their internet service is great. i am on the 10/1 plan and i almost always get that speed throughout the day. their TV service is alright, but really expensive.
my bill just came in, $223.03 
i have 2 moxi hd dvr's, 1 normal receiver and all the movie channels like hbo, cinemax, starz, and encore.
the worse part about this, i dont even get channels like national geographic! |

Well, one week in to my Charter service and I'm not very happy. My service seems to slow to a crawl several times a night.
Anyone with any suggestions, or am I just up a creek? |
