Hello,
We plan on starting up using ADSL with static ip's...
What should i be using between the adsl modem and the AP's for shaping, etc?
I have little networking/tcpip knowledge!
Thanks |

The best way is to shape it on the customers CPE and then back at the NOC again by using M0n0wall or some other form of traffic shaping/throttling. While M0n0wall works fairly well, it has a little bit of a learning curve. I do not think it works as well as some of the other paid options out there like NetEqualizer, but something is better than nothing. -- »www.wavecrazy.net Join WISPA today! »www.wispa.org/ |

| reply to kf6ytc I started with one ADSL line as well, I used Mikrotik, I don't really know why I used it, but I know it now and wouldn't switch, I don't feel to learn another router/device.
Mikrotik has a heavy learning curve though, and not entirely recommended unless you have good understanding of networking to start with, or lots of time to learn. |
