| reply to grohgreg Re: [Installer] Different LNB's on TRIA
Both assemblies are from Hughes and both where new out of the box. As we often have to use Horizons1 up here because of the higher elevation, we use this bird often and the signal is usually between 85 and 92 and exactly this confused me, why I should get only 60 all of a sudden. My own dish is on Hor1 as well. The Chinese TRIA is already back in the box and ready to be returned. | FWIW - Last fall I noticed about a 5-6 point lower reading in SQF on HOR1 1270 with a .74 reflector. This was at a site in Idaho where the only thing I changed was the TRIA. Just like in your pictures, the FRU TRIA had the smaller sized, made in China LNB. The one I replaced had the larger sized made in Taiwan LNB. |
