anon : AVG8 also deletes the files it detects as malware instead of putting them in the vault, in a default installation. Some users have compalined of having files lost which they know are 'safe'. Users have to use the adavnced settings to force AVG8 to only quarantine instead of deleting the detected 'malicious' files.

It is a known fact AVG8 detects the immunisation entries of Spywareblaster/SpybotSD as spyware and removes the entries requiring them to be reinstated.
pudelein : I used AVG until yesterday, but after reading about the issues reported by others here, I chose not to upgrade. Instead, I removed AVG 7.5 and installed Avira AntiVir in its place. So far, so good.
