IronHelix : good to know.

I've certainly rebooted my modem a few times since I've been here, and also reset (dump stored configuration) it a few times using the web UI. Same IP, as I understand things with OOL the IP leases are bound to the modem HFC MAC along with the device MAC of whatever's plugged into it. Since I'll be using the same router, I should be good.

Slight follow up though. I hear boost allows an option to get a static assigned IP, will THAT change my IP? Or will it just take my IP out of the normal pool and more permanently assign it?

RickNY :
Changing from standard to Boost alone will not change your IP.. Thats not to say it cant change, but upgrading will reset your modem - so if a reboot of your modem doesnt change it, its unlikely upgrading will either.

IronHelix : hi all, real simple question...

I've had OOL standard package for years now, works great, and my IP has only changed once when they split my node a while back. Since then I've gotten pretty attached to the IP i have.

I'm thinking of getting Boost for the unblocked ports and extra upload, but I don't want my IP to change.

Thus the question: Will upgrading OOL -> Boost make my IP change?

For the record I have a motorola SB5100 modem which as I recall is capable of the extra speed...
