[AZ] How many customer complaints does it take to

get a node split?

I'm seriously asking here.

Internet in the 1-2.5mbit range(or worse, that's just an average of my best speedtest results) any time from 3pm to midnight or so. At times the web is slower on cox than on my phone.

Slow, but not that slow, internet from about 9am to 3pm. Regular speed internet from about midnight to 9am.

I've had issues in the past with slow speeds, had a tech flat out tell me the node was over worked, but it is getting just ridiculous lately. DSL isn't an option where I live, neither is satellite, so....

I'm thinking of starting an actual petition, getting people in my apartment complex to sign it, and I'm wondering how many signatures it would take to get Cox's attention and get them to do something? Would 200 be enough? or would I need more?

And that there is no way to file a complaint with Cox,
svuser - I want to echo Matt's comments about apologizing for your service issues.

Regarding your comment about filing a complaint - there actually is a method for you to do so via email or phone.

There is that option but I think it just takes time from what I hear.
I am waiting for my stuff to be fixed also.
It's been 3 weeks now.

Part of EON is node splits and far fewer subs per node, So it is in the works...

EON= »[CATV] Cox is upgrading its network to 1 GHz

How soon til it is done? Your guess is as good as mine....

See I don't think you need to complain I mean it is frustrating to wait but that's all you can do.
From what I heard they do upgrades that would take 10 years in 2 years.
That's what I call a rush and problems it will cause.
Has it's good and bad sides.

Thanks for the corp. info. I think i'm going to fire off an email to them.

It's been about 3-4 weeks of "really really bad" speeds for me too. I've been trying to be patient, but when you go from a speed that was already considerably slower than it was supposed to be, to this...well...lets just say my patience has run out.

Thanks again for the info.

Yeah, well unfortunately all this "upgrading" has made my speeds go from bad to worse

I sure do hope it is in the works and fixes relatively quickly :\

thanks for the link btw.

A 1GHz plant is NOT going to put more than 38mbps downstream BW on a node! that won't happen til D3 and don't hold your breath waiting for that in a "havenot" state.

You put words in my mouth?

If you read it, I said part of EON is Node Splits.... Nothing about increased bandwith

A node split means fewer homes to share the existing bandwidth with.

Frankly, I would, but it would be a waste of both our time.

I've done the whole song and dance before, as have a couple of my friends/neighbors, nothing gets done or changed, the problem isn't new, it's just more of a problem in the last 3-4 weeks than it was before that.

I'll send off a complaint to that corporate info, have my neighbors do the same, put a posting up around the complex so others can be made aware of it and do so. Maybe that way will get something done.

Wow, with that attitude, I'm not surprised you haven't gotten the type of response you want.
A Cox rep just offered to look into this for you, and you react like that?

Yeah, because being exasperated with the previous 3.5 years of service(since I've moved to this apt. complex, and not just on www, but also tv) happened before all the problems.
Thus it's this "attitude" that has resulted in a lack of satisfactory response.
Besides, if a customer has finally reached the end of the rope after being jerked around on it long enough, it's the customer's fault.

Oh, but wait, the feeling that nothing can be done, and thus my quest to find out the best method to bring it to corporate's attention came AFTER years of craptastic service. So I guess your theory just goes right down the drain, along with my internet speeds and tv signal.

I'm not going to waste a helpful rep's time, when he/she could better spend it helping other customers, so why would I react any differently? Instead I'm going to focus my efforts on getting as many people as I can who live near me to contact corporate and voice their displeasure with our local office's handling of our media needs.

So why did you even bother to post here? Most of the people reading this are not in your neighborhood. Maybe you should reconsider and compare your motives to your goals and let someone help you? What do you really have to lose?

So what I have heard from you is that you have a problem ranging back many years and have not had anyone listen to your complaints.
So now you come here just spouting words how bad life is and the Cox Rep from the TOC wants to help and you turn him down.
Sounds like you like giving yourself heartburn and indigestion and think you will gain sympathy from us. NOT

NOT ME. The Cox Reps are very helpful here and it wouldn't surprise me thatthe problem you have had for the past years is in your computer setup and not outside.

Have a great day ZUCSON and don't waste your words here.PERIOD

Seriously, I just don't get it.
Why come on here and b!tch, when you are not going to accept Cox's help?

OK, so you've called the call center and never gotten the help you desire. The reps that man this forum have ways of getting things fixed. That's why they're here. They've gotten numerous problems resolved for me.

If you're not willing to accept their help, enjoy your continuing "craptastic service."

I posted here to find out how many of my fellow customers I would need to voice their displeasure, so that they might get something done. As my question in my first post states. Have problems with reading comprehension? A nice poster gave me the information for corporate, and with that, we'll be able to contact the appropriate place.

Have problems with reading comprehension too? I came here not to just "spout words" as you put it. I came here with a question, and a nice poster gave me the information for corporate, and with that, we'll be able to contact the appropriate place so that all of those affected can voice their displeasure. Seems to me that I was helped in the thread, and thanked the poster who provided the information. Hardly a "waste" of words. As for your assuption(notice the key word in that?) that the problem would be in my computer setup, uh, nope. I've had numerous techs out over the last couple years, all of which could find zero wrong in my apt(or my friends' apartments), and all of whom have said it's outside equipment issues, or being over loaded, and yet the local office does zip. Nice of you to assume(ahh yes, that little word in there) though. So have a nice day your self, and don't waste your assumptions(w00t a third time), PERIOD.

Again, I came here with a question, I got helpful information on where/how to contact corporate, which is what I've found usefull and what I and others I know are going to use to reach out for further cox help. So I came here and got great help, which is why I came here in the first place. Get it now?
said by maxpower See Profile :

No need to apparently, because with the information that an actual helpful poster gave, each person can contact corporate. Though I have printed out and placed in several locations of my complex, a semi-generic "form" type letter to help people get started. Nice to see that you have no faith in cox's corporate offices responding to customer complaints though, since you state that even a petition would only waste my time. Personally I'll reserve judgement on what cox corporate will do, until I see them in action.

....

And to conclude, thanks go out again to MaiShiranui74 for providing me with the corporate info. I and those around me shall put it to good use in trying to get corporate's attention.
