devouce fee

any recommendations on how to get out of the divorce fee AKA canalization fee. Also how does porting your number over to another carrier work do u have to talk to Vonage to cancel the account and put up with their bullshit* on trying to get services st oped.

Just think of the cancellation fee as part of the installation fee for your new service. Now if the new service is still a good deal then pay the cancellation fee and move along.

the new carrier will handle the porting. it remains your responsibility to contact Vonage to close your account with them. If you do not contact Vonage, they will continue to bill you for service (and you can still use it for outbound calling). Check the current terms of service for how months after account creation that the cancellation fee expires, and note also that they bill in full monthly increments. I am not aware of any VOIP provider that will auto-cancel your account on port out of the phone number.
