It was marginal and troublesome. Upgrading to a new modem worked wonders for me.

The PPP client doesn't bother me as I let the Linksys WRT54G wireless router handle that duty. But the ADSL2+ does interest me a great deal. I will call this either tonight or this weekend about the new modem.
