Around here (San Jose, CA) they rebroadcast a lot of the analog SD channels as digital ones, and the digital box will show you the digital one automagically if its available.

No HD channels will show on an SD box. You'll need to pay the $9/mo (or whatever it is this week) for each HD STB you want.

Local HD channels (fox/abc/cbs/nbc/pbs, and 10000 shopping channels) are usually broadcast clear QAM - they are here - so a clear QAM tuner will get you those.

Oh, you also get OnDemand and the Guide with a box.
