| (Off Topic) CCNP & CWNP Certification
So, has anyone here gotten their CCNP/CWNP certifications, if so where did you get your training. I think I'll start with the CWNP and get my CCNA at the same time, then move on to the CCNP.

| I'm still slowly working on my CCNA. I figured it's a good start and lots of refresher at the same time.
My plan is to not focus on the wireless side and move towards the CCIE Service Provider. Ultimately, I see the career longevity and cash income in that direction. |

| reply to milbrath this is a good offshoot of the education thread. i came across the CWNP the other day. i too am curious at whether that is something good or if i should look at other first. is it really worth it to get the CCNA even if you dont work on that everyday? |

| Yeah, I'm looking for a Plan B right now. I've seen a couple of job postings at military bases that required the CWNP(which really should not be to hard to obtain) that paid VERY WELL. I figure having that and a CCNA would look quite nice. Putting Wireless Network Admin on my resume does not seem to mean much since I have nothing to prove that I can actually do something.
AMD FREAK,
Are you studying on your own for the CCNA or did you get something. »www.semsim.com/ has a simulator for $40 that "they claim" pretty much guarantees you'll pass the CCNA on the first shot. I don't have a CISCO lying around to play with and I figured I'd get a simulator for the training. I did download the semsim simulator trial and it looks and feels like your working with a cisco router.
As to working towards the CCIE, yeah there will probably be someone waiting outside the test room ready to hire you. From what I've read a CCIE certification is a close to a guaranteed high-paying job as you can get.

| I have my own stack at home for labs.
I think the CCIE is a great idea for anyone serious. I firmly believe that if you have a CCIE and you cannot find work you should probably go clean toilets for a janitorial service. There is no excuse for a CCIE certified individual NOT working as a highly paid engineer or professional. |
