It was at Baseline and Wharncliffe according to the Free Press.

Oh wow. I used to manage that store back in a previous life. I'm not surprised, but I also think there's more to the story.

And once again, it's because of owners like this that I refuse to shop at Tim Hortons.

and the high prices, and the low quality, and the ever diminishing portion sizes. I think the list can go on.

Ever diminishing portion sizes?

What Tim Hortons is giving smaller portions?

I worked at Tim Hortons for 10 years and the only time I saw portion sizes go down was when they switched to frozen donuts. The only reason the sizes went down was because the bakers in store weren't following company policy.

All coffee cup sizes have stayed the same ever since I started working there.

well the sandwiches and soups are pretty small now... The scones are really small too.. Dunno if the shrunk everything at the same time, but I avoided that place like the plague, so I can't say if it was gradual or one swoop thing....

Sorry man, but the size of the sandwiches and the soups hasn't changed in at least 10 years. The packaging for the soup may look smaller since they redesigned it, but it holds the same amount that it used to hold.

The tea biscuits may have changed size when they went frozen, but again, that was because individual bakers/stores were making the product larger than they were supposed to be.

I'm not a Tim Hortons fanboy by any means and try to avoid the place like the plague myself, but if you're going to criticize them you should at least use a valid argument.

I know that muffin size is getting smaller. Years ago they had to tie them down.

No, TLS2000 is right. The only reason any of the baked goods seemed to be bigger in the past is because bakers would take certain liberties with the portion sizes. Once frozen product came out, the bakers were out of a job, and there was consistency in product sizes.

I noticed that the small sandwiches are about 1" smaller than what they used to be. Oh and they taste like crap IMO.

They aren't, trust me.

The buns changed size years ago when they switched (are you waiting for this?) from buns that were baked in the store to frozen buns that were fully cooked.

Portion size for the meat in the sandwich has never gone down either.

Well that leaves high prices ad low quality. For me, that's a good enough reason not to eat there.

I'm a person who prefers to eat at the good dives I find. So in general, I hate all fast food and franchise restaurants.
