  UK gets first Fibrecity

It would benefit consumers for local governments to install municipal fiber systems throughout the United States. Residents could then be able to select the services they want to subscribe to carried on the municipal fiber system. Service providers would not have to maintain their own outside plant. I do not see anything wrong with installing the fiber in sewers as long as they do not install web cams in my toilets.
