OnDemand requires at least the Digital Starter tier here (its only $2 more but still). I wasn't getting the exp basic channels in digital either (no idea if this area is ADS). I do get the guide. The free box pamphlet came on the same one telling me about the new HD channels so I just assumed it would do HD. Would anyone know if I out pull out the FCC mandate requiring to provide a STB with firewire on customer request would work? Would anyone know what I'm talking about or just go 1394 WTF? |

| The answer is no. HD content will not show when you are using a Standard Definition cable box. The box doesn't have the capability in showing or receiving the HD content. Meaning the box process can't convert the HD content. This includes any and all HD content whether channel or on-demand or ppv. You upgrade to HD box you will get the appropriate HD channels and on-demand content access depending on your current level of service.
Nice thing about Comcast is for the most part you won't have to pay more to get the HD channels, but there are some (ex; ESPN 1) channels that you may need to get Digital Classic or Prefered if you don't already have them. Reason is some broadcasters charge Comcast more than other Broadcasters to have access to their HD version of a channel. |
