| pioneer plasma tvguide cable card
I have a pioneer plasma tv with the tvguide built into the set. I am using a cable card with the comcast hd package. All the guide info showed until the new hd channels were added in my area (Bloomington IL) 2 weeks ago. Now the channels come in but no guide info shows. I have tried all the options in my menu and nothing has happened. Does anyone else have this trouble? |

It's supposed to get the guide data from the VBI signal on your local PBS station. If that's not available, then your out of luck. |

| reply to jjo1 I've got a Sony SXRD XBR w/TVG. One question I have is, are you talking about just the NEW HD channels, or are the previous Insight HD channels missing from the guide, too?
I also suspect that maybe TVG has NOT updated their listings for Comcast in this area, for all the new HD channels. Have you tried going to tvguide.com, selecting the digital Comcast lineup for your area & seeing what the online listings say? (they usually match the TVG EPG on these TV's)
Also, you ARE aware there is a "mapping" function on TVG. I had to utilize this when I was setting up our local OTA's digitals. It kind of cumbersome, but once you do it, it takes a nightly update for the listings to reflect your changes, but it finally worked for me. (same thing for cable channels as well)
Right now we have a problem with TVG's listings, where it correctly lists WICS analog OTA as ABC, but it INCORRECTLY lists WICS-DT as NBC. The Champaign sister station WICD IS correctly listed as ABC for both analog & DTV. |

@comcast.net | reply to jjo1 Thanks for the replies. The guide showed all channels correct until the new hd channels were added. All the analogs are correct but the new hd channels are not there. |

Thanks for the replies. The guide showed all channels correct until the new hd channels were added. All the analogs are correct but the new hd channels are not there. Try running your tv's Channel Search or Channel Auto Programming option, so it can scan for the new channels... |

| reply to jjo1 Another thing I forgot to say, you may need to call your cable operator to have them send a refresh/hit to the cablecard. But you definatly need to tell your tv to search for channels, your tv doesn't just add channels when new ones arrive, your tv scans for watchable stations originally and it would need to do it again. |
