Do you know what crashed? Was it hardware, the OS or a particular program? -- Toolmaster of La Grange. |

Also... Both batteries had ample charge, and they were experienced MAC users. Believe me.. I deal with this problem all the time on Windows Vista..
EDIT: One of the systems may have been connected to an outlet. The other was on battery. Not sure.

| reply to Tzale What OS? Leopard or Tiger?
Could be any number of reasons. Next time you're looking for "legitimate answers", how about providing some "legitimate facts", like the basic info that one could expect to provide when they're *truly* soliciting help. OS Version, Software version, whether updates were installed, a copy of the Console log.
You had nothing except "Crashing MBPs". Usually when a MBP "crashes", the first thing that comes to mind is some type of hardware issue, like a catastrophic hard drive failure. You had 2 students that didn't save their shit lose their work. It happens.
26 windows users, what is this, a community college? |

As to how to fix, well if these are not legit copies, with Adobe's activation you basically need to "hack" the app to break the activation check. Clearly no one can say what that does to the stability.
If they are legit, have they applied all the Adobe patches to bring them up to date? |

Like I clearly mentioned in my original post, this didn't happen to me. I am simply asking because I am curious and I don't have that information. I believe one of the systems was Leopard and the other was Tiger. I don't have any of the other information. Are you surprised 26 others would be using Windows? Maybe a few were using Linux. Most were using DELL latitudes they get cheap from the university.

I'm willing to bet they were probably using cracked versions of FLASH CS3 considering the absurd price and 30 day trial versions which are not sufficient for an entire semester of work. I don't know if they installed any updates.
