Re: Network question - new DSL modem

rebooted many times -- and I can't get in the router config to change that one -- should I change the dsl modem to be on the 192.168.2.x subnet?

You can't change the lan IP address of the 2210
Is the computer set to dhcp?

I would reset the modem then see if you can access the modems GUI, if you can then reconnect to the router see if you can access it then. your PC should be set to obtain an IP address automatically .. if you are unable to to access the router but you can access then modem then there is something wrong with the router or maybe even a software firewall blocking the router's ip address...I know sounds like a lot of work but if all you did was replace the basic modem with the 2210 and placed it in bridgemode this should not affect your ability to access the router...

thats what I was thinking -- that in bridge mode I shouldn't have had to change anything on the router, but...
