| [CritEditN] Sharp or Soft Focus - which of these 2 images do you
 Canon EOS 40D 18mm 1/1th F5.6 ISO800
#1 with sharpening applied | Canon EOS 40D 18mm 1/1th F5.6 ISO800
#2 soft focus |
Hi. Thanks for stopping in for a look.
I'm interested in your preference of the two variations of this photograph. Rather than simply identify the one you prefer, please explain why if it's not asking too much. #1 has been sharpened #2 has more of a soft focus

Just looking at them here I like #1 better because what I see in "#2 Soft Focus" is lack of contrast. |

The soft focus one looks lost with no actual points of references to pick. -- ****aka The WIZARD **** A Founding member Seti BBR Team Starfire**** |

| I'm leaning towards #2 as well. #1 just has that fake movies set type look to it to me. I think it would really depend on how it's used though. If you're hanging it on wall, definitely #2, but if it were to be used as an ad or something similar, I'd go with #1. |

| reply to bostechie I am with Sue as to liking both. Were I to be pushed to have to make a choice, I might go for the soft focus just slightly due to the lack of the sharpening! I know. That doesn't make sense, but to me it does. I like the feel of night better in that one. |
