Re: MLPPP on WRT54G/Tomato, progress report (with download) said by An Onymous :
If speed ever goes to ADSL2+, then the router itself might not have enough speed for MLPPP. On the other hand, you might not need MLPPP. The router should handle 2x7mbit, but there wouldn't be terribly much headroom. |

1 edit | reply to Guspaz Just a little FYI.
You can buy the WRT54GL for a great price @ www.directcanada.com
that's where I got mine. $55 or something like that. |

 | reply to Guspaz Hi, I just tried to download WRT54G_WRT54GL.bin.zip and it is something about 198 bytes in size and it cannot be opened with Zip or Rar apps. Is this normal or am I having a dl problem? I am behind a firewall. Could this be the problem? |

 | reply to infamouskid Just an FYI that Sveasoft has a firmware called Talisman/Mesh that can handle multiple Internet feeds and load balance them across multiple routers. It's been out for a couple of years now. |

 | reply to Yoyoyo_ Plus, there has been some controversy with Sveasoft violating the GPL. Plus... you have to pay for it. |

Omr join:2004-01-10 M1S-1B3 | reply to Guspaz Hey guys wicked release and effort, but you know the world wants more ... was wondering if this could be converted for an Asus WL-500W, it is an N router with GPL'd source code. Also the WL-500G can work with Tomato, so I figure the only difference being is to get the Chipset Binaries (Broadcom4704), rather then the one that comes with the 500G (Broadcom4704). Both systems are mipsel based.
I beleive there is a way of getting the USB to work and it involves getting an ipkg from OpenWRT. If this Router could be rigged it would be one heck of a toy, as it can also run BT in the Background, and save straight into a USB based HDD, saving electricity as it'll be only the Router and the HDD left on at night. |
|
 | You probably SHOULD give these guys a Asus WL-500W to play with as incentive if you want the firmware. |

| reply to Guspaz I was reading on this mlppp thingy and I have some questions.
At work, I have two internet connections: DSL wired and an unplugged. (both with B*ll, both with 3Mbps)
So this is what we have: - 1 DSL modem - 1 Unplugged modem - 1 WRT54G firmware v8.00.0 - 1 VOIP box.
Would this thing work to make a mlppp and if not what else do I need? We need to have the VOIP working.
PS: This is not for torrenting but just to increase internet speed. |

matt_mPremium join:2007-04-07 Ottawa, ON 1 edit | reply to Guspaz I'm trying to play with the lcp-echo-interval in /etc/ppp/peers/pppoe. How do I commit this file so its not lost every reboot? Do I have to echo it out in a script or something?
Also, interacting with the webui also seems to override the pppoe file... |
