| Vista with Siemes 567
I copied some bits from an old post that didn't get any response, but I now have the identical problem after just signing up with Telus:
When I turn on my desktop (xp pro)and connect to the web there is never a problem. my new laptop running Vista on the other hand may or may not connect to the siemes router. Only if I reboot the router will the laptop connect. If I turn the laptop off and then restart it will not connect without a router reboot. The laptop - a Compaq nc8430 - can connect no problem at any hotspot, to any unsecured wirelss network or any cafe or store offering free wireless connections. The Siemens has no problem if I change it to WEP, but I will not use that as it is too weak. So I have it set at WPA personal. This is such a PITA, I'm thinking of asking Telus for just an ADSL modem, and then use my trusted Linksys WAP.
Any suggestions/recommendations - I'm conviced this is a Siemens feature. |
