ahabthearab : hey, i just joined and read this forum (sorta). i have had a 3347 for 2+ years, started as a business line and just switched over to residential. had some issues with not receiving the 6.0 i am supposed to have access to but when tech was here, he was able to confirm 5.4 and stated he had no idea how i was getting it. to my knowledge, i have access to all options to modify. i have not the experience to change it around but i do know that the people i worked with to resolve all issues with this dsl line, the lady at the dsl office had a fit when the tech changed out the 3347 and took it. she immediately sent me a brand new unit and told me to NEVER let this modem out of my sight even if it is replaced. she said this is the best modem for this system. i have had 7.6.1r6 the entire time i have had this modem. whenever i have issues, they are main server related. i believe most of my issues are due to old lines in this mobile home park. i am 300 ft from a mainline that runs directly to the uplink, about 2+ miles away. if i have any info, explain to me how to check it out and i will get or try it for you if i can.

Canezoid : The consumer interface for the 3347 is known as RBAN mode for this problem. You didn't do anything wrong, this happens when during installation when the attreg default is used to initiate the pppoe connection when installing the service for the 1st time. You have your UID/Pwd established now, that's why the new modem you rec'd has the correct firmware for business class.

This is an extreme headache for customers because even a hard reset will not correct it. There is a fix to "re-do" the 3347 for business class w/ correct firmware after this happens. It is done from a firmware conversion tool that is downloadable, however I'm not sure if the link is for internal use only, when I find out I'll be sure to post it.

Peace!
