Yeah, this isn't going to work at all. My suggestion is to return the router.
Your router isn't going to have a WAN signal to feed to the Xbox. Past that, it's probably trying to act as a DHCP server and conflicting with the router upstairs which is already setup for DHCP.
I've never tried this but it sounds good... setup internet connection sharing on your laptop. Connect your Xbox & laptop together and see what happens. If you have any firewalls I'd kill them first. Then you can turn them back on, along with antivirus, after you establish it works or not. |
