I cannot replicate this. However I do believe you. there could be a fact case where this happens. I have bugged it for you and will reply if I hear anything. Perhaps somebody else has already dealt with this issue and will respond.
If I were you I would, sitting at one of the machines, use the free support assistance by phone, online or chat for XP SP3 issues:
Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada.
