 I know how the DVR works with the TV rating, but not sure if you record a show and watch it a month or more,will the ratings still matter after the 7 days?

I may be wrong, but it seems you are talking about something similar to the Nielsen ratings? If that is the case, you are highly mistaken and so are many other people on this matter. There are no dvr's out there that are capable of submitting viewing statistics for ratings purposes. Just like tv's, they need to come and add on a specific box that does this. You'd know it if you did.
