Internet is intolerable! He downloads before he goes to work. He downloads after he comes home from work. We tell him to download at nighttime ie. 10-8 and he says yes for like 2 days and he goes back to his old routine.

Now, I exceed Shaw's bandwidth. In fact, I double it and Shaw's pissed so they tell me to stop exceeding or they'll cut me off. And I'm pissed because my internet is slow like crap and disconnects like every single hour and we're sharing the internet bill.

This is why I want the cap router. I can just set the culprit to 10GB while everyone else get's unlimited. And if I catch them using over 10GB, i'll just limit them. Since 10GB is a lot. If he doesn't like it, fine, he can go get his own line. He needs to buy the modem and everything because they're all mine. And this gives me a reason to switch to Teksavvy.

[edit] What do you suggest?

Any way to set a "Hard" Cap with router?

SpeedZ : Does anyone know how to set a "Hard" cap with my router. Let's say I set the cap at 10GB. Now, when someone uses up to 10GB of bandwidth, they get their connection cut off until the next month comes or something.

Is their any router that is capable of doing this? I really like the WRT54G line of routers but I'm reluctant to buy since I am not sure if they have this feature. The QOS feature is nice but it's not good enough for me because my connection is consistently exceeding 60GB which is the bandwidth cap that Shaw imposes so I get a lot of disconnections. I want to set a hard cap so I don't reach over that limit.

Thanks
