[Skype] New Subscription Prices for Skype - Month By Month

All these plans can be purchased for one month at a time if needed, or 3 months or 1 year.

Each more expensive plan incorporates the plan(s) above it.

There is a 33 percent discount until June 1, 2008 for the 3 month and 1 year purchases for any of the plans below. Any of these plans can be purchased for one month at a time for the costs listed in U.S. dollars below for a single month with no discount.

$2.95 U.S. per month U.S.and Canada landlines and cell phones (10,000 Minutes a Month Max = you would need to exceed on average 5.5 hours per day in 30 day month to exceed this fair usage limit per month, not day)

$5.95 U.S. per month Includes above U.S. and Canada plus Unlimited calls to landlines* in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. *Same 10,000 minute a month max.

$9.95 U.S. per month Includes all of the above plans and Unlimited calls to landlines* in 34 countries worldwide. *Same 10,000 minute a month max.

Includes landlines and cell phones in U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, main land China and Singapore.

Includes landines only in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Guam, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom

*Same 10,000 minute a month max.

All of these subscription plans also include Voicemail, Call transfer, conference calling and SkypeToGo as well.

P.S. If you already have Skype Pro you can convert to these plans easily by simply signing up by clicking on the signup button on the page from the link above for the plan of your choice. For those that want to get the 33 percent discount that may already have Skype Pro. New Skype users can also do the same.

Unlike other services, if you want a telephone number so that others can call you, this is NOT bundled in these plans, but can be purchased separately for $12.00 U.S. for 3 months, or $24.00 U.S. for 1 year. This is a discounted price that applies ONLY after you are on one of the above plans.

This is the same max 30 percent discount that you would have received with Skype Pro for SkypeIn numbers, now known as online numbers which can be purchased for 3 months and 1 year.

Just wanted other members here to know that there currently is a discount and also single month purchase ability on these Skype services.

If I have PRO why would I want to switch? It's the same price it seems for the Unlimited US & Canada plan, but now they restrict it to 10,000 minutes a month. I am sure they had restrictions before, but I never seem them listed.

If you are paying Skype Pro month by month, currently, by converting you could save 33 percent by converting before June 1, 2008 if you pay for 3 months or 1 year. This would be the only reason, the 33 percent savings.

Another reason could be that with the new subscription, you can forward your Skype calls to another phone (i.e. cellphone) without having to pay extra charges.

Good Point.

Yes, both call forwarding and call transfer ("Same Country, see links below") have no extra charges.

With Skype Pro, both call forwarding and call transfer to other phone numbers even in the same country have had additional charges.

I have a couple of Skype numbers in Brazil forwarded to a Canadian number. The new plans save me quite a bit--no forwarding or connection fees. For me, that was reason enough.

Not a bad deal, especially if you factor in the discounts and select the yearly package for $30. They're now offering much more competitive prices but there are a few reasons why I won't go back to Skype.

I previously used SkypeOut to make long distance calls. I stopped buying credits once they introduced their connection fee. That should be eliminated.

Since I left Skype I realized there are better alternatives. Using an ATA with a provider that uses SIP beats the options available with Skype. Skype should open their protocol.

I'm currently with Vbuzzer and they offer a better deal than Skype's latest offering. However, I think this is a step in the right direction for Skype.
