Sling Media Slingbox Pro

I am wondering if streaming from this media is the same as downnloading through Rogers cable? Will this affect your monthly bandwidth if you are streaming video within your home using Rogers?

I am not 100% sure on this as i have never used a slingbox but if you are streaming within you LAN it should not count towards your monthly bandwidth. (as long as you steamSTREAM within you LAN)

If you are watching on your LAN, it will not count towards your bandwidth.

If you expose it to the outside world (and Slingbox phones home) then it will count

Ok I'm a bit confused. Is LAN means wire connection or can I setup a WLAN(wireless Connection)?

LAN means Local Area Network and yes is a wired connection. A WLAN is a Wirless Local Area Network.

if the video you are watching is stored on a computer in your house and not on the internet it will not count

if the video is from some place on the internet then it will count towards your internet

If you watch your slingbox inside your home, it will not count as traffic, because the streaming is not being transferred over the internet (since it is not leaving your house).

However, if you watch your slingbox when you are at another location (at work, at someone else's house), then it needs to be transferred over the internet and therefore it will be counted as traffic.

EDIT: What dauthiatull Said... must not have seen you there
