[OS X] Can someone offer suggestions about iChat Video not w

bathswife : I have tried everything to chat with the iChat program. My sister and my son are both living in Seattle and I am in Birmingham. Both of them can use the video chat with each other but I can't seem to use anything but text to chat with anybody. I have tried using my google/jabber account, my .mac account and everything I could think of.

Now I need to know where to look next. I am beginning to suspect that it could be something with my router. I am using a Netopia 3346 with Bellsouth DSL...rather ATT DSL.

If anyone has had this experience who uses bellsouth and the Netopia router, can you tell me if you had to do that....oh what do you call it, punch holes in the nat or something like that? i'm sorry I'm not up on the terminology....but make pin holes or something like that? Is that what is needed? It seems to me that that can't be the problem though if I am able to chat with text using either the .mac, aim, or jabber/google account.

But the video and audio chat is something I haven't been able to achieve.

I am on the latest OSX Leopard update, on an intel based iMac with plenty of both ram and hard drive space. I have checked to make sure all my updates are current.
I have used the disk repair utility...nothing there.
I have cleared the plists and that didn't help either.

Any suggestions?
thanks!
--
jbooksNOSPAM@bellsouth.net
remove the "nospam" from the email to email me.m
»www.johnsonsusedbooks.com
