I don't use a box its hooked straight to the TV. I'm no expert but I'm sure your way off as to what you think happened. I'm thinking it was at the head end or somewhere before that. Maintenance perhaps.

Boston, MA		 If it was in fact a headend problem, did you call to lodge a complaint? I'm sure Comcast will be more help to you then people on this board for headend problems.
