No one here has reported that. Does it happen on all the stations? I used to get that problem once in awhile on just one broadcast station with my old cable company. It was some sort of a signal interference problem between the station and cable provider, but yours is on all stations??

Shaded horizontal bands or lines that roll up or down the screen can be an indication of a ground loop problem caused by 60 Hz interference from a ungrounded or poorly grounded piece of the A/V setup. But a line that shows up every few minutes is a weird one. Typically, ground loop will show up as shaded bands that go up or down the screen continuously. I had this problem once with Comcast and it was caused by a poorly grounded co-axial cable line.

But if you are using HDMI and it only shows up on 1080i and only every few minutes, it could be a STB problem. Video buffer gets messed up or something like that. Still you may want to look for a power source that toggles on every 5 minutes that might be causing 60 Hz interference.

I have seen many posts on here from people with weird behavior or SD-HD channel switching problems with HDMI. This happens not only with Verizon, but all the cable companies. I think many people would be better off using component cables for the cable/Fios STB/DVR. Leave HDMI for the DVD or Blu-Ray players, game consoles, and other HD video sources.

Since you said "boxes" what happens when you switch the boxes around? Does the problem stay with the location or move with the box?
