| reply to IHATEBELL2 The rest of the world would simply laugh at the pidly gigabytes you used in a month. Other people from other parts of the world would be using 200 terabytes a month or more and what's the catch for them? Well of course there isn't any. This is the year 2008 where bandwidth is virtually free in just about every country except Canada. |

| Bellundo, you keep declaring bandwidth to be virtually free with NEVER anything to back it up. This is a myth.
Europe, Australia, the USA ... all are implementing or have bandwidth caps.
The only places that seem to be able to give bandwidth away are Japan and Korea. |

I haven't been following this disconnection issue. Is Bell disconnecting everyone who is still on the unlimited package? |

  sbrook Premium,Mod join:2001-12-14 H0H 0H0 | At the rates they're charging, I agree it's nothing like 2 to $5 per gb ... but at the same time, it's not virtually free |

| I would be very happy if Bell had suggested to cut me before the contract expiration date. So I can leave early.
Why take to the trouble to fight with Bell ? Just go enlist another provider. Numerous companies are better than Bell in terms of price/quality ratio, and their offerings are straight forward too. Some of these providers do not sneak around the clients' back.
Plse just do not disturb Bell any longer. Save your breath. |

| reply to Rastan said by Rastan :Bandwidth actually is cheap. ISP's are just cashing in instead of spending a bit of money to upgrade their network. I'll agree that bandwidth is relatively cheap but upgrading the network to handle the increased usage along with extra for future needs is a major job & very costly. I would like to think that ISPs keep an eye on this, weighting the cost/benefit ratio, looking for the best time to implement the major upgrade. -- Intel P4 2.8 800 fsb, Asus P4P800 w/1GB PC3200 DDR RAM, 512 MB GeForce 7600GT, SB Audigy Gamer, DVD-Rom/CD-R Burner & LG Duel layer DVD Burner, 320 & 120 GB Internal & 2x 250 & 3x 500 GB External hard drives & Samsung 226BW 22" LCD Monitor |

Well yes it doesn't matter per say, but it does give a clue as the parameters they're using to decide on who to disconnect. |

| reply to sbrook the average price per GB in Canada is $0.05 to $0.12 ,, go check your Bell, Rogers and any corporate hosting stats and that's including all infrastructure costs. -- Please engage eyeballs and retain functional brain before operating fingers. |

  oh LOOK
@videotron.ca
| 0.047-cents/gig.
Bell gets it cheaper due to their "market clout".
Don't let the Bell employee's make you believe Bell is paying some sort of fortune for B/W per gig. Its not true.
